FRUIT AND SPICES

The vineyard named ‘Janin’ is the source of this single-plot cuvée, which has been aged for 12 months in 400l barrels. It exhibits a bright ruby color with purple highlights. The nose is attractive and has aromas of blueberry, blackberry, fine spices, and dry plants. The palate is rich, firm yet juicy and greedy, generously coating the taste buds with its joyful flavors. The finish raises a discreet mineral background. A Cuvée that is well-done and has the potential to age well! Serve at 19°C now or cellar-age it for a minimum of 10 years.

Food and wine pairing:
Serve with dishes in a sauce/stew and grilled meat; Quail with chard, beef aiguillettes, veal kidneys or andouillette à la Beaujolaise, grilled beef rib, Beaujolais tomme, chocolate fondant

Morgon Côte du Py 2023

An iron fist in a velvet glove!

This single plot cuvée is a selection of vines on the Côte du Py terroir. It has an intense red color with ruby-brown reflections. The nose is complex with aromas of red fruits of kirsch cherries, raspberry and gooseberry which evolves over the years on notes of spices and undergrowth. On the palate, the attack is balanced with silky tannins. The mid-palate is lickerish and structured. A velvety finish with notes of black fruits (blackcurrant) and spices giving it great aging potential!

Drink now or cellar-age at least 10 years.

Serve between 17-19°C with dishes in a sauce/stew and grilled meat

Serve with dishes in a sauce/stew and grilled meat; Rabbit terrine, breaded pork feet, beef ribs, eggplant lasagna, beef bourguignon, rabbit in mustard sauce, cow’s cheeses (Morbier), almond and fig tart.
